END OF THE LINE FOR THE F10 - A THANK YOU LETTER

From BMW’s internal memo:

“October marks the end of production for the 5 Series Sedan (F10). With this allocation all 5 Series Sedans have been allocated through October production with the exception of the 528i Special Edition, which will be allocated this month.

Please note that new 5 Series (G30) will not be available for retail until early 2017.”

Starting in October, BMW will have finished the production run of the F10 5-series. During the Paris Motor Show, the newest generation of 5-series will debut, internal chassis designation being the G30 generation.

The way someone like me looks at the cars that BMW produced between maybe ‘88-’99; the sort of amazing cars, E28, E30, E34, E36, M5's and M3's respectively. These are cars that defined many peoples passion for BMW and I feel now we have presided over a similar era. I’m not saying there isn’t more the come, I’m sure the future brings amazing things but certainly the F10 era of M cars has been staggering and this is a fitting goodbye.

So on behalf of everyone that has ever driven one or done a snaky slide in one, thank you very much.
